The Institute of Management Consultants and Advisers is pleased to announce that at its May meeting, the IMCA Board  approved Maynooth University’s application for the accreditation of three MSc programmes taught at the university’s School of Business, specifically the:

  • MSc in Business Management
  • MSc in IT Enabled Innovation and
  • MSc in Strategy and Innovation.

The IMCA Accreditation Panel’s extensive assessment of the three Level 9 programmes embraced the content of program modules, learning outcomes and details of real world focus. The Panel placed particular emphasis on evidence of preparation of students for consulting in the workplace, including opportunities for practical application of academic learning through consulting projects, the completion of in-company assignments and work placements.

The IMCA accreditation of the three programmes will remain valid for a three year period, to 30th April, 2021, at which point the programmes will be due for reappraisal.

The IMCA Board congratulates Maynooth University on its successful application and expresses its thanks to the Head of Maynooth University School of Business, Prof Peter McNamara, and to School of Business faculty members Geraldine Lavin, Jean Cushen and Roger Sweetman for their constructive engagement with the IMCA Accreditation Panel, comprised of Tony O’Brien, Kevin Empey and Denis McCarthy.

The IMCA looks forward to maintaining contact with the Maynooth University over coming years and to growing its relationship with the School of Business.
