The new CEN European Standard on Management Consultancy Services, EN 16114 is being launched in Brussels on 9 November 2011.
The development of this standard arose from the EU’s Services Directive which seeks to make a common market in services in the same way as it has in manufactured goods. A key instrument in this has been the adoption of ‘service standards’ which describe the interface between the consumer and provider of a service. It is anticipated that the standard will become a global ISO standard within a year.
As it was inevitable that a service standard was to be prepared for management consultancy, ICMCI choose to be proactive and take an active part in the writing of the standard.
An IMCA Working Group provided feedback, through NSAI, to the development of the standard.
