General Manager
CReative Enterprise West (CREW)
CREW (Creative Enterprise West) is a strategic initiative to accelerate enterprise development and job creation in the digital creative industries in the West of Ireland; led by Galway Mayo Institute of Technology, Western Development Commission and Galway Film Centre.
CREW will develop, commercialise and scale-up creative digital enterprises across three core areas:
Creative: Animation, 2D, 3D, VFX, Data visualisation, Film / TV production, Virtual production, Game design, Game production, Animation, Visual effects
Immersive: Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality – for entertainment, education, enterprise
Design: UI, UX, UE, Information architecture, Interactive design
CREW will deliver the following high-level actions:
Creative Enterprise Hub
Enterprise Development Programmes
International Market Development
Training and Education
Network / Community of Practice

Reporting to the board, the CREW General Manager’s key responsibilities include:
Overall management of the CREW initiative, and delivering on the actions outlined above
Line management of the team
Financial management of the capital and operational budgets
Liaison with the construction project manager delivering the new creative hub buildings
Operational management of the hub facilities including securing tenants to ensure a high level of occupancy
Management of relationships with creative enterprises and relevant regional partners and stakeholders
Engagement with creative enterprises based in the 100+ Enterprise Hubs along the Atlantic Economic Corridor to develop a Network of Practice and remotely deliver enterprise programmes
Overall responsibility for the development and delivery of enterprise programmes in collaboration with key partners
Marketing and promotion of the CREW initiative and all its activities
Stakeholder engagement and collaboration with partners to develop, and source funding for initiatives related to CREW high level actions
Development of case studies, results and related reports
Writing and submission of funding applications

The ideal candidate should have the following experience, skills and academic qualifications:
Ideally five years’ senior experience working in the digital or creative or related industries, and a strong understanding of the industry in Ireland and abroad.
A proven track record in business development, project management, partner management and stakeholder engagement.
Understanding and experience of working with the creative sector and the industry ecosystem, funding structures, and support organisations.
Strong financial and commercial acumen including senior level experience of managing capital and operational budgets, financial reporting, and raising finance
Experience in operational management of enterprise centre/hub
Experience in the oversight of construction projects, working closely with construction project managers
Experience in developing and implementing enterprise programmes
Excellent visual, written and verbal communications skills, and strong attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated team leadership skills
The capacity to work in a flexible manner, under his/her own initiative, in an environment of constant change.
Proficiency in the use of social media and information technology.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s qualifications are desirable.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and suitability for the position. This is a three-year contract position and is subject to a one-year probation period. Standard working conditions apply. The successful candidate will be based at CREW’s office on the GMIT School of Design and Creative Arts Campus in Galway City.
