The Organisation
The Injuries Resolution Board formally PIAB was established in 2004 and is an independent State body established to support the fair, prompt, and transparent resolution of personal injuries claims without the need for unnecessary litigation. Through impartial and independent assessment and mediation services, the Injuries Resolution Board resolve claims in respect of personal injuries suffered by people in motor, workplace, public liability accidents as well as handling Garda compensation claims. The Injuries Resolution Board is also a key pillar in contributing to insurance reform and as well as providing mediation and assessment services, the Board also conduct and commission research on personal injuries to help contribute to reform and greater transparency in this area.
The Role
The Injuries Resolution Board is now seeking to appoint the role of Director of Communications, Strategy and Governance.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the role of Director will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team, with responsibility for maintaining strong working relationships with the Board, relevant government Departments and other key Stakeholder groups in relevant sectors. They will also direct the organisation in developing a strong communications function that builds awareness and trust in services, and a research function that is respected for its expertise and independence. In addition, the Director will support the Chief Executive in maintaining and developing a high performance, innovative and proactive organisation through a combination of strategic leadership skills and effective relationship management.

The Person
The successful candidate will have a proven record of achievement and leadership at senior level in the public or private sector, with evidence of leading and delivering significant and successful change in complex and dynamic operating environments. The candidate will also have proven ability to design and deliver major organisational and transformation programmes, as well as an understanding of the current Corporate strategic context and how the organisation can be most effectively supported at corporate level into the future. The role will also require flexibility to work cross functionally, in addition to a knowledge of governance, risk and HR and experience of their application.
