The Institute of Management Consultants and Advisers is pleased to announce IMCA Board approval of University College Cork’s application for the accreditation of four MSc programs taught at Cork University Business School, namely the:
· MSc. Business Economics
· MSc. in Management and Marketing
· MSc. in Co-operatives, Agri-Food, and Sustainable Development and
· MSc. in Innovation and European Business.
The IMCA accreditation will remain valid for a three year period, to 31st October, 2021, at which point the programs will be due for reappraisal.
The IMCA Accreditation Panel was comprised of Tony O’Brien, Chair, IMCA Membership Review Board; Gerard Daly, past-President, IMCA; and Denis McCarthy, CEO, IMCA. The Panel completed an extensive assessment of the four Level 9 programs, including content of program modules, learning outcomes and details of real world focus. The Panel placed particular emphasis on proof of preparation of students for consulting in the workplace, including opportunities for practical application of academic learning through the completion of consulting projects, in-company assignments and work placements.
The IMCA Board conveys congratulates UCC on its successful application and expresses its thanks to Professor Eleanor Doyle and CUBS faculty members for the constructive manner in which they engaged with the IMCA Accreditation Panel. The Institute looks forward to progressing with arrangements for a launch event in Cork, in early 2019, and to the involvement of the IMCA and its members in classroom sessions surrounding the practical application of the Institute’s competency framework in real life consulting situations.
